In the fuzzy world of marketing—and that includes avionics marketing—it’s axiomatic that features sell a product. Stripped down basic products, no matter how cheap, are often poor sellers and don’t deliver much margin for the manufacturer. It’s true in cars, computers, cameras and consumer electronics.
